This particular question is for the ladies. During intercourse, has your vagina ever made a weird, loud, farting sound? And for men, do you guys ever look at the woman with disgust after hearing that absurd noise? Briefly, I will share my experience with you. One day, my "boyfriend" and I were having sex in his car. I say "boyfriend" because we were merely friends with benefits, but I needed a word that was shorter and more appropriate. I was in a completely different world, because the sex was incredible, until I was brought back to reality when a certain part of my body made a noise that I was totally unfamiliar with. Please excuse me, for in order to fully grasp my moment of embarrassment, I need to be a bit explicit. As I recall, he took his penis out, and was slowly re-inserting it. As he was doing it, my vagina made this farting noise, and my eyeballs almost fell out of my sockets. This continued every time he would take it out and put it back in. I had never felt so embarrassed in my life. I remember trying to make it stop by flexing the vaginal muscles and preventing it from further escaping. Ha! that didn't work at all. I then turned around to look at his face, only to have him looking back with a curious expression. "Are you okay," he asked me. I died a little inside once he asked me that question. We still continued to have sex. I don't think he minded it at all, but for the rest of the night, I felt humiliated and couldn't stop thinking about what it could be that causes this?
I then did a little bit of research only to find that this "problem" wasn't as big as I thought it would be. It's common among women, and I was absolutely relieved to find that I was not the only one to experience this. Now, this is what I've learned. The vagina may have a tendency to make a "farting" noise when air is rushed in. The noise itself as actually called "Queef," which is properly defined as "Vaginal flatulence (flatus vaginalis in Latin) is an emission or expulsion of air from the vagina that may occur during or after sexual intercourse or (less often) during other sexual acts, stretching or exercise." Personally, the word "queef" is a funny, yet unusual word to call it. Also, among my research, I've found that women who've experienced this have said it most likely happens when they are having sex in the Doggy Style position. Coincidentally enough, the same happens for me.
So... is there a way to make it stop? In all technicality, there's no real way to eliminate queefing permanently. However, there are things that help:
- Try switching positions. Most women claim to queef while having sex doggy style.
- Ask your partner to not pull out completely during sex, as it will possibly decrease the amount of air coming in.
- Vaginal exercises. Yeah, I know how it sounds, just go with it. I've read that some women flex the vaginal muscles at least 200 times a day, and that helps decrease the queefing. I've never tried it, but hey! give it a shot.
The best overall way to help with queefing is to LAUGH about it. Ladies, I can't stress enough how completely natural and normal queefing is. I've asked many of my guy friends what they thought about queef noises, and almost all of them say that they don't mind it, and laugh it off. They say that hearing the "vart" doesn't make them want to stop intercourse. Sex is NOT perfect, nor are we. How is it that we are comfortable enough to bear the noises of the heavy breathing, the slapping, squishing sounds during sex, but are head over heels embarrassed with a little fanny fart?
Now, I feel one hundred and ten percent comfortable with my body, and most times I barely pay attention when I queef. I've learned to accept that it's natural and that I am not the only one. This doesn't happen only during sexual intercourse. It can happen while stretching or exercising.
On a more serious note, air being forced into the vagina can cause air embolism, which is done in order to cause vaginal flatulence during cunnilingus, and can develop gas bubbles in the bloodstream. This can be life-threatening to those who are pregnant. So, please don't blow air in someone's vagina just to get a fanny fart out. Just turn them around, or lift their legs up high, and there you go!
I've done a ton of Googling and have seen many women ask questions on what it means to have your vagina make a farting sound and if it can be "cured." I hope this helps in your quest to find answers. :]

No, it doesn't mean you're loose. It happens when air enters your vagina, especially when he pulls out. I personally think men just don't care. Sex is sex LOL If they're comfortable with it, we (women) should be, too. :)

This had never happened to me until I had a baby. It has only happened maybe 3 or 4 times, but it is embarrassing when it does happen even though me and my husband have been through everything including him watching me push our daughter out. I'm a 24 year old guy and I don't think this is because of a guy having a small penis or a girl being loose. I think this happens when the guy fills the girls vagina enough to keep it tight around his penis. So that when he pushes it in air is forced in and when he pulls it out the air comes out. JUST A HEADS UP: Even before I started having sex, I was queefing. In high school, it would happen during the cool down exercises at dance practice, or whenever I tried to do yoga. Stretching in odd ways in general, really. BUT, I was a virgin. I'd never had sex, never been fingered (even by myself), never even had a tampon up there. It took me years to locate my blow hole. It was almost sad. So many wasted tampons.
Once it happened when I was just rolling around with a guy, but still not during sex, and I still hadn't even been touched down there. It was awkward for everybody. I bet he thought I was just this slutty freshman in college, but in reality, it was just something that happened.
When I was 19 (3 years ago), I started having sex, and I haven't seen an increase (or decrease) in them. Not every time, but sometimes it happens when my boyfriend gets a little overzealous with his stroke. Then he makes fun of me, we laugh and continue on. Sex is inherently weird. Weird faces, weird noises, weird positions, weird transitions. Anyone who would let a little uncontrollable air bubble stop you or themselves from orgasming has issues.
So, just wanted to put that out there. Queefing is not indicative of a loose girl. Some of us *sigh* were just born this way.

For one, a vagina is never "loose." it is actually the same size at all times unless having 3+ kids. The vagina will ALWAYS go back to the same size within a few hours. And it takes 30 minutes of sex to actually get the girl completely sexually simulated. If you're a guy saying only girls who queef are loose, you obviously don't get laid very much. Do some research! And I've only ever "queefed" after sex. And that's only if I make sudden movements directly afterwards while my body is trying to recooperate from being completely drilled. :D and oddly enough; I found I only do it if I'm not completely shaved. I assume that's pure coinicedence though.
I can understand why women would be embarrassed the first time it happens, but relax. Men do not care. Most men even find it cute or sexy when the woman makes that noise, and even more so when she becomes embarrassed as a result of it. Just accept that the sound happens. We know what makes the noise, we don't care, and you freaking out over it is pointless.

It's just part of being a woman, some make the sound, some don't and like amateurs who don't bird watch, have to hear it to believe the sound, and trying to arrange that is uh challenging. You are right to laugh it off, just as long as it doesn't put your man off. Play it down with him, it should be ok. When he knows lots of women make strange sounds down there, he'll be ok.
If he's not, then you should get rid of him. Heh! I'm kidding.
